Brushing up on oral hygiene

Maintaining a good oral hygiene regime will help to make sure your teeth look and feel great, which in turn will boost your self-confidence.

One of the most important things to remember is to floss at least once a day, ideally before brushing your teeth, as it removes food debris and the bacteria it can attract before it has time to harden into plaque. Brush your teeth at least twice a day for a minimum of two minutes – using a gentle, circular motion. Brushing too hard can actually damage teeth.

You should also visit the dentist every six months. This is the usual length of time a cavity takes to develop, and a dentist will also clean your teeth more thoroughly than you can at home, by using special tools to kill bacteria and remove tartar build-up.
