USL marketers attend Cannes young lions competition
Two young Marketers from Unilever Sri Lanka – Munazza Rafeek and Vidushi Rambukwella – have won the rare opportunity to represent Sri Lanka and Unilever at The Young Marketers Competition at Cannes Lions 2014, in France. This is the first time in history that two young Unilever marketers have been afforded the opportunity to attend this esteemed competition.
Munazza and Vidushi were selected after winning the local competition hosted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), in partnership with the International Adverstising Association (IAA) and Metal Factor. SLIM conducted a workshop for participants and gaming sessions, after which the participating teams made presentations to a panel of judges, comprising of various industry experts.
Speaking on this achievement, Marketing Director for Home and Personal Care at Unilever Sri Lanka, Siddharth Banerjee said, “This is a really outstanding achievement by our young talent. I wish Vidhushi and Munazza the best as they represent Sri Lanka & Unilever at this prestigious world-renowned forum, and compete against the most talented and creative young professionals from around the world.
“ The Cannes Lions the world's biggest annual awards show and festival for professionals in the creative communications industry, and is dedicated to developing the industry’s young talent. At the Young Marketers Competition, each team will be expected to produce a brief answering a challenge and create a product/service based on the challenge. The ideas will be presented in front of a jury represented by creatives and strategists selected by the Festival.
