Unilever Sri Lanka shines at SLIM-Nielsen People’s Awards
USL wins five awards, becomes Most Awarded FMCG Company
Unilever Sri Lanka emerged as the most awarded company at the SLIM-Nielsen People’s Awards 2016, with a total of five awards, spanning across heavyweights Sunlight and Lifebuoy, as well as emerging stars Vim and Knorr.
Household care expert Vim took the top honours in the FMCG category, emerging the joint winner for ‘FMCG Brand of the Year’, while the iconic Sunlight was voted the ‘Household Care Brand of the Year’ for the second consecutive year.
Unilever’s beloved food brand Knorr also took center stage this year, emerging the joint winner for ‘Food Brand of the Year’, whilst also taking the honours for ‘Youth FMCG Brand of the Year’. Germ-protection expert Lifebuoy maintained its dominance with an 8 year run as the ‘Personal Care Brand of the Year’.

People’s Awards is an annual, flagship event organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) in partnership with Nielsen Sri Lanka. It holds the distinction of being the only award show in the country to be based on a nationwide independent survey. The awards recognize brands and personalities that have made an impact in the lives of people in Sri Lanka.
